Switching from Void Linux to Freebsd
2 weeks ago, I switched from Void linux to Freebsd. I was curious about what BSD was like compared to Linux so I decided to install Freebsd on another drive on my computer and I have been using it since.
There's some differences between my Void Linux setup and my Freebsd setup. I decided to use simpler software for my Freebsd setup. I installed XLibre and dwm and used vim as my primary text editor (no plugins besides fzf.vim).
This is a lot more simpler and lightweight compared to my Void Linux setup where I used GNU Emacs as my primary text editor and Xorg's xserver which was starting to become outdated.
One thing that bugs me a bit though is that, I can't get Stremio to work on Freebsd which, to be honest, is not that big of a deal. I'll just write a tiny Stremio clone for myself once I finish my little kernel I've been working on.
So far, I actually really like Freebsd and I intend to keep it as my daily driver.
